1/ Some reflections for my friends in the UK.

The second wave is coming. Here in Spain we've had 60K news cases of the virus in the last fortnight. Half of those in the last week.

Remember, if the first wave is anything to go by, you're about 3-4 weeks behind us.

#COVID19
2/ This time it is different. Death rates have flattened, which suggests earlier and more effective intervention đź‘Ť

But community transmission and clusters of infection are growing, worryingly, exponentially.

...
3/ Our scientific and medical fact base grows daily đź‘Ť

At risk of over-simplifying, the risk of you contracting and, even if you don't become unwell, onward transmitting the virus grows exponentially the more time you're not wearing a mask or face covering indoors.
4/ And if you're younger and asymptomatic, the chances are you won't get very unwell. But the risk you pose to others remains unchanged. Please think of us.

...
And please don't forget two things:

1. Those of us who've recovered from the worst of COVID but have longer-term, serious, symptoms. The evidence of the long-term damage is only beginning to emerge.

2. Your behaviours and actions CAN make a huge difference.
Please don't wait to be told what to do by a government. Please, just don't. By then it will be too late.
Listen to what Nicola Sturgeon says in her daily press briefings, whether you like her politics or not. She's such a clear communicator and will provide many clues on what you need to do to stay safe and keep other safe.
I think only Merkel, or at a stretch, Cuomo have matched her for absolute clarity of message, rooted in the science.
