1. FPL Twitter is a small place
FPL Twitter makes up 1-2% of the 7m+ FPL managers. Don't be pressured into doing something/not doing something because of Twitter.
Eg: It seemed like everyone captained Antonio for his 4 goals vs NOR last season, but he was owned by <5%

2. Set & forget GK is the way to go
The goalkeeper position has the smallest range of scores. The difference between a premium and cheap GK will be only 30-40 pts. Points will even out over the long run, so it’s probably not worth have rotating keepers.

3. There’s no such thing as ‘cover’ for the big guns
If you try and save money by picking a cheaper attacker from the same team as a gun, you will be punished. The guns are that price for a reason.
E.g. Picking Firmino over Salah, Maddison over Vardy, Jota over Jiménez.

4. Premium DEFs offer great value
The prospect of CSs + attacking stats makes premium DEFs the best option at the price range.
E.g. Willian was the highest scoring £7m or less mid with 168 pts. Grealish was next with 149 pts. There were 4 premium DEFs who scored 150+ pts.

5. Be patient with you premiums
Premiums are proven. If they blank, don’t overreact. If their underlying stats are similar to previous seasons, the returns will come. If not, then think about trading
E.g. Salah blanked but had impressive stats, Kane blanked but had poor stats

6. When picking premiums, think about who you are more likely to C
Your money is better spent by picking premiums who you will captain regularly
E.g. Picking Auba was paying £11.0 for a regular player. Picking Salah was paying £12.5 for a regular double point option

7. Go with your gut
This one’s not specific to last season, but still an important lesson. Consider the info from articles, podcasts, etc., but you must make the final decision. You are in the best position to judge what’s best for your team, so trust your instincts.

8. Have fun!
Again, not specific to last season, but still relevant. FPL is a game. Enjoy it! If your captain blanks, it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. There are more important things in life than FPL.
