I was reading through the clinical studies that you cited in the article and i think this particular discussion is very nuanced and not as black and white as you paint it to be.. For example one of the studies cited discusses persistent opioid use after delivery.. That term
persistent opioid use is very vague to begin with.. The definition it listed was a pharmacy claim of 1 or more opioid rx 4 to 90 days after discharge or 1 or more 91 to 365 days after discharge. This definition doesn't really say whether someone is abusing it or will likely OD
from it.. Just states that persistent use is a pharmacy claim after however many days after discharge.. Also another study you listed titled Persistent opioid use following cesarean delivery: patterns and predictors among opioid-naĂŻve women stated out of over 80,000 women only
