The Islamic Republic is founded on Third Worldism, the "Ummahism", and Shia Islamism -- all of which are antithetical to the Iranian nation and nationalism. It's therefore no surprise that the Islamic Republic repeatedly abuses Iran's ancient past:
Khomeini feels nothing after returning to Iran from exile: https://twitter.com/narangestan/status/1293932043081076743
“Before Islam, the lands now blessed by our True Faith suffered miserably because of ignorance and cruelty. There is nothing in that past that is worth glorification. We will break all the poison pens of those who speak of nationalism, democracy, and such things.”
– Khomeini’s remarks to students in Qom, 13 March 1979
“Oh Lord, I told them, I told the gentlemen (of the clergy) all I know...it concerns a nation which throughout history has suffered under the rule of kings. Throughout a 2500 year history it has been under the rule of kings, kings who have brought it nothing but suffering and...
misery. Even those supposedly just rulers were also evil...Yes, throughout history this nation has lived under the rule and oppression of these evil kings.” - Khomeini’s Speech Number 52 from IRIB
In a pamphlet entitled “Cyrus the Imposter,” Khalkhali presented Cyrus as brutal, bloodthirsty, debauched, tyrannical, Jewish and a homosexual. He sought to destroy Persepolis, but was stopped by angry local residents. Khomeini never condemned Khalkhali.
Nosratollah Amini, governor of the Fars province at the time. “I went on the radio and declared that such a treachery could only happen over my dead body. I ordered the military to be prepared to confront them upon their arrival in Shiraz.
But before they could carry out their dirty mission, they were ordered back.”
There were attempts to destroy the tomb of Ferdowsi, Iran’s national poet, who hardliner clerics detest. In Shiraz, vandals damaged statues and historical artifacts.
In Isfahan, mobs attacked the home of prominent Iranian sculptor Ali Akbar Sanati and destroyed many of his works. In Tehran, people pulled down statuettes of lions over the entrance of the old parliament building.
Even Nasrallah is allowed to get in on the fun:

"There is nothing in Iran called Persian or Persian civilization. What exists in Iran is Islamic civilization. What exists in Iran is Muhammad's religion from Arabia,
from Tahami, from Makka, from Quraish, from Tamim and from Mathar, and the founder of the Islamic Republic [Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini] is an Arab, son of Arab, son of God's messenger.
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic today is Imam Khamenei, sayyed from Quraish, from Hashim, son of God's messenger, son of Ali ibn-Abitaleb, son of Fatemeh Zahra [the Prophet's daughter and Imam Ali's wife], and they are [all] Arab."

While the video has been removed, I personally remember watching it years ago. In embarrassment, Iranian Islamists claimed the video wasn’t real and that it was Israeli psy-ops.
In his last Nowruz speech, he didn’t even have a haft-seen set-out, only a picture of Khomeini.
It's not surprising -- Khamenei does not hide his hatred of ancient Iran:
No concerted effort is ever made to preserve Iran's ancient past. Instead, subhumans such as these are allowed to insult Iran and Iranian culture freely, while a whisper of criticism towards the IR is met with brutal force. https://twitter.com/FEREEON/status/1295292025659686912
Today, leftist Shia Islamists adore the charlatan Shariati. Here is what Shariati thought of Iran: https://twitter.com/vahbarz/status/1280922214297071616
