To the legions of parents, grandparents, students, teachers, education staff, trustees and community members rising up to fight for students and safe back-to-school: you are inspiring, needed, and making a difference.
The fight for students must continue.
The fight for students must continue.
It upsets me so very much that so many classrooms were over-crowded and at a breaking point due to the cuts and underfunding by the Sask. Party heading into COVId,
and now in face of this pandemic and with so much at stake, school divisions, teachers, education staff and parents are left to scramble without the provincial leadership and resources they need and deserve.
The Sask. Party had six months to get this right - instead they delayed action and brought forward the worst back-to-school plan in Canada, and now, we are only a couple weeks away from the start of school.
With the inadequate funding announced today - education is still funded less now per student than it was five years ago, because of the Sask. Party’s damaging cuts.
That’s not leadership. That’s not safe. That’s not right.
That’s not leadership. That’s not safe. That’s not right.
Together, we must keep fighting for students, because it’s time for change and to make education the priority it needs to be - during this pandemic, and for years beyond.
It’s about the next generation - their futures, and ours as a province.
