Cities removing COVID bike lanes because the "pandemic is over" is extremely short sighted. Why did you install the infrastructure in the first place? It was to support well-being and safety of residents, correct? Have your priorities changed?
Does anyone remember climate change being a thing? We were worried about it before this pandemic. Getting people out of their cars can help. Oh, and here's a recent piece by @drvox on how air pollution is way worse for our health than we originally thought. https://www.vox.com/energy-and-environment/2020/8/12/21361498/climate-change-air-pollution-us-india-china-deaths
Climate change is also implicated in the pandemic. It's a complex system with many interrelationships. Given the massive impact COVID has had on our lives, I hope cities can appreciate the necessity of a systems approach. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7122279/
