@chrismmarsh People’s Powerhouse Director said ‘Our young people were in a totally unjust position they should never have been in. The effect of this was devastating for them and was levelling down the North, not up. (2/4)
They made their voices heard to get the grades they deserve. Thanks also to the Metro Mayors for their efforts. It’s now over to Universities to give young people the life changing opportunities they have earned. (3/4)
Beyond this we need to address the systemic issues this has exposed - that an exam driven system perpetuates inequality, standardisation and holds our students and teachers back. It’s time for change.’ (4/4)
