#Belarus. Witnessing history every day.Hundreds of state television employees joined a strike, saying they want to report in a balanced way about the situation in #Belarus. One of them told me earlier today that more reaction from the West is needed. Propaganda always dismissed it
Strikes at enterprises across the country.Workers joined street protests, demanding free elections. A MAZ worker I talked to today:“I personally know members of my election commission, and I know who people voted for. The real winner and the announced winner are different people.”
On Sunday, the biggest rally in the history of #Belarus took place in Minsk. One week ago, people were shot and badly injured. So now they demand justice. These days, they walk with flags, play “Changes”,show victory signs.I do not recognise my hometown, full of the spirit of defiance
But Belaurs is not a safe place to be at the moment. Perhaps stun grenades are not exploding in the place where we work, but local journalists and protesters understand how shaky and fragile this calmness is. It is rather a break, and it seems that #Lukashenko is trying to win time
