Wherein the Senator from Wisconsin—like the late Senator Joseph McCarthy from Wisconsin—tries to weaponize his committee.

Here's Johnson's move on opening day of other party's national convention.

His tweet thread is weak tea.

Fellow GOP senators going down with him for this?? https://twitter.com/SenRonJohnson/status/1295402562720587776
2. And for those tuning in late:

Johnson recently admitted the quiet part out loud.

He told a local news show about his Committee's investigations: "It would certainly help Donald Trump win reelection."

And Johnson acknowledged on another news show... https://twitter.com/McFaul/status/1294048424803721216
3. #RonJohnson acknowledged on Hugh Hewitt show that Republicans on his Committee are concerned about his actions.

"We had a number of my committee members who were highly concerned about how this looks politically."
4. Note-1: Those Republicans were concerned about Sen. Johnson's investigation even before Politico's @kyledcheney reported that Johnson publicly admitted the investigation's partisan agenda.
5. Note-2: Sen. Johnson said those Republicans on his Committee have stalled/prevented his getting other subpoenas approved (and not just the subpoena of Russia-linked Ukraine operative).

What a train wreck.
