Chelsea 19/20 Player Ratings
A thread:
Only the main players in our squad, no youth who played 20 mins versus Grimsby
Rating System
1-10
1-3 terrible
3-5 bad
5-6 okay not great
6-8 key players who had great seasons to our standards of them
9-One of the best players in the world
10-legendary season, ie Suarez 13/14 or drogba 09/10
Kepa-2

Kepa was abysmal and only a few good saves have stopped him getting a 1. His passing had been shocking, cost us points all across the season and was as reliable as using a plastic bag as a Condom. I’ve been done with him since the Newcastle mistake, inspires 0 confidence
Caballero-5

For a 38 year old keeper when called upon he played okay, for what we expected he was solid. However a new back up should be signed such as foster
Marcos Alonso-6

Let’s all be honest Marcos has been okay this season. He has scored some lovely goals and has shown some better form at LB than we thought he could. Still his crossing was as good as nothing and ironically never provided much drive.
Emerson-4

At the beginning of the season Emerson looked like a possible world class left back, shooting forward. However he has been exposed defensively, as shown versus Bayern when Lampard was forced to play him. Expect to see him on his way.
Christensen-4

We all thought this would be the season of AC. Instead he has proved to be a Danish fairy. Often caught staring at the ball as it goes in standing still or being spun or physically dominated. Constantly switching off and failing to show his talent, he’s been bad
RĂĽdiger-4

Rudiger like AC has just been poor, horrible mistakes and dumb decisions. Not really having a brilliant game all season, and hardly showing any good signs to come, really has to be sold
Tomori-7

I don’t know what happened but before January Fikayo Tomori was getting off with girls off love island, and Cruyff turning Hakim Ziyech, in the Cruyff arena. Tomori showed his brilliant passing range and blistering pace. I thought he was unfairly dropped
Zouma-7

Big boy Zouma has shown what AC and Rudi haven’t, progression. At the start of the season Zouma was shite. As the season moved on however mistakes dissipeared and we saw the true zouma. Dominating aerially & on the ground, and criminally underrated technically
Cesar Azpilicueta-7

Azpilicueta, once again Mr.Consistent has shone. His crossing has improved and defensively he is still completing over 4 tackles and interceptions a game. He is still one of the premier league’s best right backs and will still be a key player next season.
Reece James-7

The heir to Azpilicueta isn’t a bust it’s fair to say with Reece James having a fantastic season even pushing Azpilicueta out of the starting 11. His defending has been near superb, he was superb versus Davies against Bayern in the 2nd leg and his crosses are 🔥
N’Golo Kanté-6

Let’s all be honest this wasn’t the best season of Kanté. He kept getting injured and never got going. However when he played especially after the restart we saw his technical qualities from a deep position & he kept pressing and chasing every man like Kante does
Jorginho-5

Jorginho has had his moments this season. His ability to control games is superb however his defending intelligence, positioning and his athleticism has been poor. He lets teams play past him like he isn’t there and got 10+ yellows for a reason.
Gilmour-6

Billy went through adversity in his first season when he had a dip in form post restart. His performances have been incredible tho, always looking forward and tracking runs. Has great ball control and vision with the passing ability to execute it. Will be key in future
Mateo Kovacic-8

Released from Sarri’s restraints, he has now showed his technical ability and talent. He constant dribbles through teams like nothing and presses and haggles teams constantly. Next season more forward in a 433, he could press and dribble with more freedom, POTY
Ross Barkley-6

To summarise, good, bad, okay, shit, okay, great, meh, constantly reoccurring and you’ve Barkley’s time at Chelsea. Should be kept as a squad player however he still needs to improve a lot to start
Mason Mount-7

Lampard’s boy has showed why the gaffer loves him, his constant pressing & positioning between the lines have been superb. Banging in free kicks & whipping in godlike balls compared to Willian from free kicks and corners. A player who will be key for years to come
Ruben Loftus-Cheek-5

Really this was just a spell of matches for Ruben to get the feel of the game again. Next season we should begin to some Ruben back again. However I can’t give him a high score because he hasn’t been good enough to warrant one in his limited gametime
Willian-7

Willian without penalties had another 5 goal season again, however this season Willian was one of the top creative wingers in the league, ranking up there with Ziyech, Sancho, Mahrez and another Chelsea winger, as 4 of the best creators from wide. A good season
Pedro-5

What can I say didn’t play much not much else to say other than when called upon he wasn’t useless, always will remember the goal against Salzburg
Pulisic-8

He isn’t getting a higher score due to his lack of game time. However when he played he has been running and defenders and scoring goals. Ripping teams apart with goals versus Man City, Valencia, Arsenal, and Liverpool. He looks like a future star in the making
Hudson-Odoi-6

Whenever he has played CHO has been one of the top 4-5 creative wingers in Europe. Next season with hopefully more game time he could get respect from other fans. Let’s hope he gets his chance and prove everyone wrong including some Chelsea fans
Giroud-7

Giroud was superb on the run, scoring I believe 5-7 starts in a row. Looking rejuvenated and ready to fight next season, his experience helped us to wins against United, and City. So underrated, hopefully he keeps this up next season and pushes timo and Tammy on
Tammy Abraham-8

Proved many fans wrong with 18 goals and they weren’t all tap ins as opposition fans would say. I do believe aerially he must improve, but his hold up play has improved drastically and he has in interviews expressed his willingness to fight to start for Chelsea
Batsuayi-3

Just wasn’t good enough, thanks for the goal against Ajax but when we looked for you to step up you failed us
