nazar (evil eye) protection; a thread
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“The evil eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree (Al-Qadar) it would be the evil eye.” (Muslim)
There are different types of evil eye:

1. Al- 'Ayn - The eye from someone who may love or know you and not have evil intentions towards you.

2. Al-Hasad - The envious eye from someone who hates or dislikes you or something you have but wants it removed from you.
3. Al- Nafs - The admiring eye which a person can put on themself.

4. Al-Nathara - The evil eye which comes from the Jinn.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Most of those who die amongst my ummah do so – after the will and decree of Allah – because of the evil eye.” (Bazzār)
1. Pray for blessings on another and even on your own blessings Muslims do often say “masha’Allah” when praising or admiring someone or something, as a reminder to themselves and others that all good things come from Allah.
2. the effects of evil eye can be deadly! Say Bismi'Allah "in the name of Allah" before you do things such as entering your house, eating..etc
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Whoever among you sees something in himself or in his possessions or in his brother that he likes, let him pray for blessing for it, because the evil eye is real.” (Ibn al-Sunni , al-Haakim)
The best protection against the evil eye is those that bring one closer to Allah through remembrance, prayer, constant dhikr and reading of the Qur'an.
3. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: whoever recites these at dawn and dusk. It will protect you from all sorts of evil such as evil eye, magic..etc (Tirmidhi)

Surat Al-Ikhlas (x3)
Surat Al-Falaq (x3)
Surat An-Nas (x3)
Ayatul Kursi
Surah Al-Fatihah
4. Du’a: It is recommended to recite

"Hasbi Allahu la ilaha illa huwa, 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa Rabb ul-'arsh il-'azeem."

Allah is sufficient for me; there is no god but He. On Him is my trust, He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne"

Qur'an|9:129
a’oodhu bi kalimaatillaahit-taammaati min sharri maa khalaq

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whosoever says at nightfall: I seek refuge in the complete words of Allah from the evil in what He has created- no harm shall affect him” (Muslim)
Only Allah can protect us from harm, and believing otherwise is a form of shirk! some misguided Muslims try to protect themselves from nazar with eye necklaces & hanging them on their social media profiles. believing otherwise takes one into the destruction of kufr!
may Allah (swt) protect us from all sorts of evil and grant us complete protection
