How I started making money online as a Nigerian.

#Thread
I've been hearing about online businesses as far back as 2013 but I really didn't take it seriously until 3 years later. This was 2016.
I was an intern for NNPC.
I really loved the job cos it gave me a lot of time to develop myself.

I worked as a plant operator in our gas plant. I worked a 24 hour shift 3 times a week and had the next week off.

It was beautiful!
So on this fateful day, I saw a Facebook ad. It was a seminar that would teach us how to make money online.

I jumped at it... It was free
So I went there.

The guy kept talking and blowing our minds.
He talked about mini importation, blogging, selling of e-books online, etc.

At the end of the day, he sold a manual for 1k. I bought. Thinking that was the ultimate guide.... Lol

The manual contained basically all he taught in the seminar. Not bad ooo.
So in my mind, I was going to become the next Linda ikeji 😂

I started a blog.... Later deleted all contents and turned it to gospel.
http://Gracemeal.blogspot.com

I failed.... It wasn't easy 😂😂😂
Then I decided to write an e-book on how to make money online. 😂

When I had not made money.

One of the greatest mistakes of my life. Hahahaha

I priced it at 500 naira.... Ran Facebook ad. The only person that called me was asking for a discount... On top 500 naira oo 😂😂😂😂
Zero copies sold.... I don't even know where the e-book is again... Lol.

I decided to stop trying shortcuts and implement what I actually wanted to teach in the book.

That was the game changer for me!
I went to Garrison in Port Harcourt.
If you're familiar with PH, you'll know Garrison is like computer village.

I met this woman and told her I'm an online marketer. I wanted to help her market her phones online, but she had to give me at good rates so I could resell.
She agreed.. And I took pictures of the phones. In the first week, I grossed around 200k...made like 30k profit.

I was like..... Meeehhhnn
This is the life!
Actually made some decent money from that, but I stopped selling because I almost got arrested. I didn't know the phones were refurbished.

Till today, I'm still friends with the woman but she doesn't know why I stopped doing that business.
While doing that, and working at NNPC, I began to learn how to use photoshop and coreldraw.

By 2017, I had learnt graphic design and photo editing.

Also learnt photography.... I was shooting with my cousin's camera until he took it from me.
During that period, I'd design and put out my work on Facebook. As per... Make people dey aware day I dey design.

I did this everyday, until someone messaged me and asked for an album cover design.

The guy still dey owe me 2k till today.
Now by constantly putting out my work, people already knew me for design.

So one day enter Mr Tila... He's looking for a designer on Facebook.

Someone tags me, he loves work and links me with one of my biggest clients. I've done deals of over 1 million naira with her.
That's how I got into crypto too... Because she had a crypto training company.

So I got to know the basic terms and all, but I wasn't trading yet.

2018, I learnt about e-commerce and started importing watches from Aliexpress. I resold them on my whatsapp status.
After selling for a while, I started teaching people how to import too.

My first class was N3000, second class N5000....

That was how I started teaching people online.
Since then I've taught crypto trading, digital skills, sales, forex trading, etc.

The most important thing here is that I've had first hand experience in everything I'm teaching.

So I know how it works.
The story don dey plenty but here's what I want you to take away.

1. Don't try to teach what you don't know.

LEARN, DO, TEACH!

Don't skip the doing.
2. Learn new skills...
Diversify your income.
Take opportunities when you see them.

Be willing to risk it all
Everything I've done in total now makes sense because I've gone ahead to start our company http://Kaizenacademy.co  an online education hub where you can learn digital skills on demand.
I've never had to scam anyone or do any shady business.

I made my first 1 million strictly doing clean business online.
There are endless opportunities.
You just have to take advantage of them.

The end.
