Chelsea 2019/20 Player Ratings:šŸ“Š

Disclaimer - Minimum 1,000 minutes played in all competitions.

[A Thread.]
GK:

Kepa Arrizabalaga - 2.šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ø

Shown glimpses of what he could be last season but really hasnā€™t lived up to his Ā£72 million price tag.

Most goals conceded by a Chelsea goalkeeper, second worst save percentage in Premier League History - numbers speak for themselves.

Shocking.
Willy Caballero - 6.šŸ‡¦šŸ‡·

The 38 year old, veteran of the squad was handed a 12 month extension and I donā€™t think he was expecting much minutes.

Nothing really wrong but nothing spectacular. Been reliant when heā€™s been called upon - thatā€™s about it.

Far from perfect.
LB:

Marcos Alonso - 5.5.šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ø

Often been utilised in the 3-4-3 system to benefit his lack of defensive presence.

Had some big performances against Spurs but other than that, relatively inconsistent and lacklustre on the defensive aspects of the game.

Keep as a backup.
Emerson Palmieri - 5.šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹

Looked rather promising at the start against the likes of Manchester United and Leicester before picking up an injury.

Since then, hasnā€™t found a consistent place in the squad. Been linked with a move back to Italy to Inter Milan.

Expect him to move on.
CB:

Kurt Zouma - 7.šŸ‡«šŸ‡·

Recovered really well from the clumsy challenge on Rashford and own goal against Sheffield.

Question marks around his future but heā€™s definitely made a strong case. Great on the physical aspect of the game.

Definitely our standout defender.
Antonio RĆ¼diger - 5.šŸ‡©šŸ‡Ŗ

Was sidelined for majority of the start of the season and hasnā€™t looked the same.

Had high hopes following a solid season under Sarri, but that definitely hasnā€™t transpired. Been very inconsistent from the back.

Underwhelming to say the least.
Andreas Christensen - 5.šŸ‡©šŸ‡°

At times, has looked our best centre back and at others, the worst of the bunch.

Lacks heavily in the physical department of the game - being bullied by other players. Reads the game relatively well but not consistently enough.

Will get moved on.
Fikayo Tomori - 6.5.šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ

Had a very bright stint during our 7 game win streak and formed a formidable partnership with Kurt Zouma.

Is prone to a mistake now and again but we canā€™t deny his rapid pace. Exceeds at tackling and interceptions as well.

Hindered with injuries.
RB:

Cesar Azpilicueta - 7.5.šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ø

The embodiment of what Chelsea Football Club stands for.

Absolutely honoured for him to be the captain and leader of our club. Called upon numerous times and has delivered week in, week out.

Consistent and quality season from the captain.
Reece James - 6.5.šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ

The heir to the captains right back spot, James has been a breath of fresh air this season.

Been very promising, showing eye-catching glimpses of his potential. His crosses are deadly and heā€™s been defensively solid for his first year.

A great talent.
DM:

Nā€™Golo KantĆ© - 6.šŸ‡«šŸ‡·

It just hasnā€™t been Nā€™Golo KantĆ©ā€™s year.

Hindered with injuries throughout the season, he hasnā€™t really had that consistent run of games. Had some big moments against Liverpool at the start but other than that, rather unfortunate.

Very unlucky.
Jorginho - 7.šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹

Despite a recent dip in form, Jorginho overall has had a very solid season.

Answered a lot of critics under Lampard - showing he can make it in the Premier League. Played excellently in a pivot with Kovačić.

I think heā€™ll move on.
CM:

Mateo Kovačić - 9.šŸ‡šŸ‡·

Fantastic season from the Croat. Looks to be a bargain at Ā£40 million.

Consistently an 8/10 performer every week and is a huge reason to why we are where we are. Absolutely flawless and mesmerising to watch.

Player of the season.
Mason Mount - 8.šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ

Another fantastic talent whoā€™s up there for our standout performers.

Firstly deployed as a 10 but looks much more comfortable in that attacking 8 role. Silenced the haters, especially after the lockdown.

Heā€™s only going to improve. Big future for Money Mase.
Ross Barkley - 6.šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ

Certainly had his moments and was key in our FA Cup run.

Other than that, looked poor at times and definitely struggles with being a consistent performer. Thatā€™s what separates him.

Could be involved in some sort of swap deal over the Summer.
RW:

Pedro RodrĆguez - 4.5.šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ø

Didnā€™t really expect much from the Spaniard. Time certainly wasnā€™t on his side with the addition of the youth - ultimately limiting his minutes.

Had a very nice game against Everton, scoring and setting up Mount.

A great servant to the club.
Willian - 7.šŸ‡§šŸ‡·

The rollercoaster of emotions that is Willian.

Against Spurs looks like Ronaldinho and at times against others, Rolando Aarons. In all fairness, had a very solid output - probably his best in a Chelsea shirt.

Nevertheless, a great servant. Good luck at Arsenal.
LW:

Christian Pulisic - 8.5.šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Absolutely sublime young talent. The gift that keeps on giving.

Struggled at first with the physicality but since his hat-trick, heā€™s never looked back. At only 21, itā€™s scary how good heā€™s going to become.

Absolutely love the guy. Star boy.
Callum Hudson-Odoi - 5.5.šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ

Another player whoā€™s struggled with fitness.

Looked sharp after his return - accumulating 4 consecutive assists. With the form of Pulisic, heā€™s struggled for consistent minutes in the side.

I expect big things from Callum next season.
ST:

Olivier Giroud - 8.šŸ‡«šŸ‡·

At one stage, looked inevitable that the Frenchman was going to leave.

Since the restart, Giroud has been one of our best players - linking up well with Pulisic. His hold up play is still exceptional.

A true professional. Testament to the man.
Tammy Abraham - 7.5.šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ

Remember when people were worried about where Chelsea would get there goals from?

18 later and Abraham has more than proved his worth. No matter what you think, the man scores goals and is still only 22.

A great first season for Tammy.
