In five short years, the logic of selfie feminism, the "art movement" that produced a pseudo-Marxist manifesto claiming to seize the means of production from male artists who traditionally controlled the depiction and circulation of female nudes, has fully infiltrated the culture
The detail the selfie feminists conveniently overlooked is that the days of chauvinist pig artistic "genius" using and abusing his whimpering muse are long gone; most male artists today are low-T, Berlin-look soyboys who make internet esoterica about gaming and neoliberalism
In other words, the myth that sustains all recent feminist actions, from selfie feminism to the #MeToo movement is that men are generally hostile rather than generally indifferent. Feminists want this to be true, but not for the reasons they think.
It allows feminists to toil under the delusion that we're still living in a patriarchy, when in reality, no self-respecting patriarchy would allow such movements to thrive in the first place, nor for that matter approve of objectification in the guise of empowerment more broadly
