After the success of last weeks thread, here is a THREAD by team of players I think you should avoid, rather than stating the obvious I’ve tried to pick some players who may well be popular who I believe won’t be worth a punt this season

Enjoy & please retweet 😀

Arsenal

Luiz & Ozil are obvious avoids but I’m going William here. He could end up being popular but his goals mainly came from pens at Chelsea & Auba will have those. He’ll take some set pieces but there are far better players available at 8m who will score points in open play
Aston Villa

Tyrone Mings, not sure how this guy is worth a price rise, 5.0m?? He’s part of a side who don’t defend well and IMO will struggle again. Offered little attacking points last season too and is generally awful. Someone needs firing for this price rise. Stay away
Brighton

Lallana is a tidy signing but at 6.5m I don’t expect him to offer much value in FPL, no set pieces & Brighton won’t score many goals. I expect less than 10 goal involvements so would explore other options at that price range. Brighton’s most expensive FPL asset 🤔🤔🤔
Burnley

Some may say how can you choose the top scoring GK from last season? But I am. Pope’s increase to 5.5m offers very little value when Burnley defenders sit at 4.5/5m.Ryan scored 35 points less last season & is £4.5m, that 1m can be used better elsewhere in your FPL squads
Chelsea

Tammy Abraham. I believe he’s currently behind Giroud in the pecking order & the arrival of Werner means he’s likely to get very few minutes. £7.5m even if starting could be questionable given his poor form 2nd half of the season. May offer value if he goes on loan
Crystal Palace

Ward & Kelly we’re both two of the most popular palace assets last season but I expect the cheaper Nathan Ferguson to get the nod so I would stay well away from these 2.

Ayew for 6.0m also doesn’t score enough goals for me and I won’t go near him any time soon
Everton

I could create a thread on Everton players to avoid alone but I’m going Richarlison, he didn’t look interested the back end of the season & only 0.5m cheaper than Jiminez & Ings? He can be great on his day but way too hit & miss for me. Sigurdsson is another to avoid
Fulham

Tbh minus Kebano & Mitrovic I would just avoid all attacking assets. Saint Maximim & Armstrong are 5.5m or you can go with Knockart or Cairney? Tempted? Didn’t think so.

My thoughts exactly, let’s move on.
Leeds

I’m sure I’m going to upset Leeds fans here but Hernandez for 6m? Not for me. Struggled last time in the PL with Swansea (5 goals in 57) & is now 35. Other assets offer much more value & I expect Leeds to score few goals being tight & hard to beat. Most expensive asset 🤷🏻‍♂️
Leicester

So now let’s pick on the PL top scorer. Again I’ll upset a few but I just can’t see Vardy at 10m representing value. Martial, Werner, Jiminez & Ings all cheaper & Aguero/Kane if fit for 0.5m extra are much better value. European football will lead to more rotation too
Liverpool

Nearly went Mane but I think he could be a good premium differential. Firmino at 9.5m after last season? I like him as a player but I can’t justify that spend with the players who are cheaper. I suspect low ownership this season for one of my favourite players to watch
Man City

Mendy 6.0m??? Didn’t see that coming. Injury prone, seems out of favour with Cancelo at LB and guessing the Pep roulette at LB is like guessing when Tyrone Mings will be worth 5m, never going to happen.

Next.
Man Utd

Pogba 8.0m. I’m a fairly big Pogba fan but since Bruno has signed he’s dropped deeper & deeper and is having less & less goal involvements. Add in that he missed so many penalties he’s no longer taking those either. Sorry Paul but you won’t be going near my FPL side
Newcastle

Joelinton 6.0m, enough said. Let’s move on. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
Sheffield United

I don’t think there is a lot of value in Sheffield Utd this season. However I would avoid the front three especially. McBurnie, Sharp & Mousett all at 6.0m, all not very good, all wont score many goals and all will be rotated regularly.
Southampton

Shane Long has long been an enabler at 4.5m & 5m but at 5.5m I’m afraid he isn’t even that anymore. I suspect Adams and Ings will be the preferred strike force and expect to see more of Obafemi this season. Sorry Shane your not even an enabler anymore. Useless
Spurs

Imagine a world where Armstrong & Saint Maximim are both priced cheaper than Ndombele. £6m? Even Jose is pissing himself

I also think Jose doesn’t fancy Alli. Think Pogba at United under Jose & I think that’s what we get with Alli at Spurs. £8.0m is a big no no for me
WBA

I watched a lot of WBA last year, my family are all WBA fans. Robson Kanu can be an handful but is an awful FPL asset at 5.5m, stay away from Sawyers too, guaranteed booking every other game & very few goal involvements. I suspect WBA are in trouble if they don’t add players
West Ham

Can somebody please explain to me how Haller is the same price as Antonio? Anyone? I didn’t think so, me neither.

Another awful price is Ogbonna at 5.0m, 81 points last season. On a par with Mings 🤮🤮🤮. Stay well away from both
Wolves

Controversial but I really don’t like Traore for £6.5m, he will be in and out of the starting lineup with Jota, Podence & Neto competing for wide spots as well as Nuno changing to 352 at times. Doesn’t score enough goals for the price. There are better 6/5.5m assets
That’s your lot.

Again, hope it generates some good debate, I’m sure one ot two will disagree with a few picks.

If you’ve found this useful please retweet away 😀
