I’ll start by saying that John Kasich in no way represents this party. My gut reaction: “why is a Republican speaking at our convention? What about Castro, Pressley, etc?” I know progressives think is a swipe against us, BUT maybe the party has enough faith that progressives...
understand this moment and don’t NEED to be pandered to. They’re not talking to us, they’re talking to persuadable moderates/soft GOP. Maybe we don’t take this personally and we let them convince whoever actually needs convincing so that we achieve our sole goal of beating Trump.
We get nothing done if we don’t win. I really don’t think that John Kasich speaking at this convention is going to have any material impact on the progressive legislation put forward by a Democratic House/Senate and signed into law by Biden.
