I've talked quite a lot about Robert Pattinson as Batman, but #TheBatmanšŸ¦‡ isn't just his movie. Matt Reeves filled it to the brim with immeasurable talent. So, I think it's a good idea to do an entire cast spotlight thread as we gear up for #DCFanDome .
Zoƫ Kravitz - Selina Kyle

Zoƫ has exactly what is needed for Catwoman. Seductive to lure you in, to make you underestimate her, to make you think she's not a threat. Her strength and confidence is quiet; she doesn't have anything to prove. And for Catwoman, that is perfect.
As a master burglar, Selina eases your guard down and strikes in silent. She's effortlessly badass, as is Zoƫ. Matt Reeves picked an actress who perfectly exudes the exact energy of her source material. However they handle her Catsuit, I trust it will be an iconic interpretation.
Andy Serkis - Alfred Pennyworth

Given his relationship with Reeves, I knew Serkis was gonna end up in this movie, but I never would have guessed as Alfred. But honestly, I'm glad. I am happy to see him doing a quieter, more grounded character, instead of another spectacle role.
Knowing this Alfred will have a much bigger focus on the familial bond between him and Bruce gets me all the more excited. Alfred's concern for Bruce is always his shining moments in any version of him. I have no doubt Reeves is getting the perfect chemistry between him and Rob.
Paul Dano - Edward Nashton

I don't think I have seen anyone hate this, and for good reason. This casting is on par with Pattinson as Batman. There is nothing bad to be said, because he is the perfect choice. Never did I think I'd see Paul Dano do a CBM, so goddamn, did we win.
Nobody does sniveling, conniving, and slimy quite like Paul. He brings an aura of vulnerablity and insecurity that is exactly what Riddler needs, as someone who constantly needs to prove their worth. He is going to give an iconic performance. I'm so glad he's the main villain.
Colin Farrell - Oz Cobblepot

He's about the last one you'd expect for Penguin. But by God, if he isn't perfect. As an actor, he has matured a ton over the years. I hope to see a really unique Penguin from him, because I really don't know of any version to compare him to.
That well-to-do public persona hiding a corrupt, violent criminal is going to be an interesting role for him. This casting is too specific to have not been written for him, so whatever Matt has in mind, Colin's talents are perfect for. Just, please let him keep the Irish accent.
Jeffrey Wright - Jim Gordon

Wright is inquisitive by nature, and he is a pro at channeling that into his characters. Quiet, commanding, stoic, everything Jim needs to be. I picked Wright for Lucius Fox, but Reeves had something better in mind.
His passion for this project has been made clear. He cares about what he's doing. As Gotham's last good cop, that's important. With this being an early Batman, I think I am most excited for their interactions. Detectives at odds. Different methods, same goal.
John Turturro - Carmine Falcone

This needs to be talked about far more, as this is brilliant casting. Turturro is a master at his craft, and has a massive, colorful career. His range is undeniable. HBO dramas to Adam Sandler comedies, whatever he wants to do, he can do.
He was yet another casting that nobody saw coming. I don't know how he'll play it, and I don't want to. His talent speaks for itself, so however he handles it, I believe it will be the definitive Falcone adaption. Plus, nice to have an Italian-American actually playing one.
And as excited as I am for all of them, there are two new characters being introduced to Gotham, straight from the mind of Matt Reeves. I have theories based off of the limited knowledge we have about them, but it's the mystery that really keeps me excited.
Jayme Lawson - Bella ReƔl

Keep your eye on her. I think this movie is going to explode her to superstardom. And man, what a breakout role. I can't speak to her acting, obviously, but I am excited to be able to. Matt Reeves has something big in mind for her.
A grassroots political candidate, my theory is that Bella is a Gotham native who grew up a victim of its corruption. I believe she is a political newcomer, trying to rise to a position where she can truly improve Gotham, and earning her way there with the help of Bruce Wayne.
Peter Sarsgaard - Gil Colson

I am also not familiar with Peter's acting, but I have zero reason to not have faith in him. Taking a look at him, and it seems he can easily slip into a corrupt, vicious mindset, which I'd love to see in his character.
Gotham's (other) corrupt DA, I believe Gil is who Bella is working against. I don't have any solid theories on this character, which only makes me more excited for whatever he's gonna do. For a mystery movie, what's better than a little mystery?
Matt Reeves stacked this movie. Every single cast member excites me. Never has a CBM cast surprised me like this. I don't think there has ever been a better time to be a Batman fan. We truly won here. #TheBatmanšŸ¦‡
