THREAD: Rating all our signings under both Mislintat and Raul. I thought I would spend some time doing a thread which rates each signing we have done under both Sven and Raul. RT so more Gooners can see the thread would mean a lot to me, enjoy! 😁🔴🔴🔴
AUBAMEYANG: Elite goalscorer and his numbers speak for itself. His influence to the team is enormous and its scary to think where we would be without him. For the majority of his time here, we haven't played to his strengths, particularly this season under Emery.
I'm so excited to see him in under MA for a full season. If we bring in a top quality creative midfielder who can drift in between the lines, he is scoring 25+ in the PL easily. Not much more needs to be said really other than the fact he is world class and different gravy. 10!
MKHI: Dream start against Everton at home and bags 3 assists. After this though, he lacked consistency. His decision making, weight of pass and quality whether its in between the lines or out wide, was poor and really frustrating to watch. He just hasn't been able to
transition his performances from the Bundesliga into the PL, which is a shame as he was sensational in Germany. It just wasn't meant to be and neither United or us benefited from the swap deal. 3
MAVROPANOS: He actually started really well, putting in a top performance at Old Trafford. Next game wasn't so good and was sent of early at the King power. But overall, he hasn't convinced me. Lacks composure in possession and his positional awareness currently isn't great.
Injuries haven't helped but he hasn't convinced me whenever he has played. I recall the game against Standard Liege this season where he looked sluggish and off the pace. Lets see how he performs on loan in the Bundesliga and analyse his situation in a years times. 3
LICHSTEINER: Veteran defender and it looked like a great deal initially. Free transfer, and possessing valuable experience. But coming to the PL at 35, he struggled massively to adjust to the pace and intensity. Had a few good performances but he was certainly not a hit. 3
SOKRATIS: Initially, he provided many solid displays and showed fight. But since we make back from that Dubai trip in 2019, his levels dipped drastically. This season, he has been far from reliable, making numerous costly errors. Clearly he doesn't suit MA's style of football. 4
TORRIERA: The tenacity he provides is a desirable attribute. But he seems to have never settled here in England, constantly flirting with a move back to Italy. Dani Ceballos has shown to be a more influential partner to Granit. I would move him on to generate funds 6.
LENO: What a signing! His consistency since joining the club in 2018 has been phenomenal. What separates the good goalkeepers from the top ones is the reaction after a mistake. Whenever he has made errors, he doesn't dwell on it and continues to put in brilliant displays.
His shot stopping ability and reflexes is elite. Has improved from his first season in terms of his ability to command his area. Distribution needs work but for 19M, this really was a brilliant acquisition. Especially when you consider Chelsea spent 72M on Kepa! 9
GUENDOUZI: A lot of promise initially but I was never really convinced by him. He has had a few good performances during his time here but overall, he lacks in far too many departments. I don't know what he offers. Poor positional awareness, too slow to release the ball which..
slows down our overall play, doesn't protect the back four and provides nothing in terms of a goal threat. His attitude is a concern, which has been highlighted by previous coaches as well. The hype surrounding him might help in generating good money for him. 4
SUAREZ: Never understood why we brought him in. Thank god it was just a loan. Technically good but he just didn't seem to be physically ready for the PL. Didn't really get much minutes but its crazy how his best performance was in a friendly game in Dubai. 1
TIERENY: Fantastic signing. Looks like a born leader. He provides the same level of intensity both offensively and defensively. His quality in the final third is off the highest order. What I like about Kieren is that he has a wide range of different deliveries in his locker.
He can whip them in with real pace as well as delivering them with a certain floated trajectory. There is still so much more to come from our number 3. Easily the 2nd best LB in the division. I'm hoping that he can stay injury free. 9
LUIZ: With Emery, he made numerous mistakes that cost us valuable points. But under MA, he has been an important figure. His composure and line breaking ability in possession is tailored to the way MA wants to play. Im giving him a 6 but 5 is also a shout. 6
PEPE: Was buzzing when we signed him and i'm still so excited to see what he brings to our team. Followed him closely at Lille and he has so much still to offer, its scary. Under 3 different managers, playing in a systems that didn't suit his style of play for the majority of..
the season, along with having to adjust to the pace and intensity of the PL. Under MA, we will see a different animal and you can clearly see his improvement in performances already under our exciting young coach. Surround him with the right personal and he will flourish. 7
CEBALLOS: Started so well with a fantastic all round midfield display against Burnley. But after this his performances dropped under Emery. But with MA, he has been utilised correctly and has provided brilliant levels of consistency. Hopefully we can sign him permanently. 7.5
MARTINELLI: What a breath of fresh air he has been. His performances during our pre season tour suggested to me that he could have a significant impact for us this season. Although he provides cover on the wing, CF is his best position by far. Every aspect in his game is
tailored to playing this role. Great movement, able to drop deep and link play and his finishing is quality. what I love about him is that his first instinct is to get a shot away. Its unfortunate that he has suffered this injury. Hopefully he comes back even stronger. 8
Cedric Soares, Pablo Mari, Willian and William Saliba are not going to be rated as we have seen either nothing or minimal from each of these players. But we now move to the Arteta and Edu era. Lets hope for some quality signings. COYG!! 🔴🔴🔴
