This week we join Scotland’s leading pro-European campaign organisation, the European Movement in Scotland, #EMiS to launch a campaign, through its affiliated local groups across the Scotland, to #DefendDemocracy & highlight the sectors of the economy damaged by #Brexit.
In the face of serious threats to our economic & political future, it's time to join forces & shout "enough"! Campaigners will send letters to Scotland’s MPs & MSPs to demand that our elected representatives stand up for democracy & our country's economic interests.
EMiS chair, former MP (Edinburgh North & Leith) @marklazarowicz said: “Whatever people's views on the EU, on Scotland's future, we need to wake up to the steady dismantling of our democracy; to understand we risk sleepwalking into something which is a democracy in name only."
Today @GlasgowlovesEu has written to all #Conservative #WestofScotland representatives at the @scotparl and to @RuthDavidsonMSP, @Douglas4Moray and to Alister Jack @ScotSecofState to register our concerns specifically in relation to healthcare - we will keep you posted!
Once it’s COVID-safe, we plan to take our peaceful campaign out onto the streets to #DefendDemocracy
This week's rolling campaign will feature areas such as the Food/farming NI etc To join us in campaigning send us a DM & we will get back with links to our campaign letters
