THREAD: I was tested for COVID-19 at Campus Health this morning and will be going to University-sponsored quarantine. Follow along for self-documentation of my experiences.
/ packing for quarantine. Carolina Housing is supposed to call me sometime today with further instruction about moving into the quarantine dorm and I’m staying until my room until then.
/ I was informed by Carolina Housing that I will be moved to a local hotel (not disclosing the specific location for privacy.) All students are offered P2P service to the location. For convenience’s sake, I will be driving myself.
/ Arrived at hotel safely. Carolina Catering truck parked outside. Didn’t mention this before, but according to an email from Carolina Housing the hotel stay and CDS meals are provided to quarantined individuals free of charge.
/ Here is the food that was given to me when I checked in. I brought some stuff from home in anticipation, and I’m glad I did. Unclear if this is what will be provided every day.
/ Here’s the room setup. Notice the gloves and trash bag on the bed. Sanitizing wipes were also provided.
/ To answer a previous question, I checked in 6 feet away from the counter and was led to a separate room to get my food. I used the standard hotel elevator and a cart that was offered to me. The reception staff was wonderfully helpful and very kind.
