I'm of the belief that we're watching the president actively attempt to steal the election. I don't believe he's done yet, and I think we have to act collectively, and take responsibility for each other, to stop him.

There is a lot of good analysis about what we should do to protect our own votes. @staceyabrams has a great thread and knows first hand what it’s like to have an election stolen, @emmagreenman has an excellent MN checklist too. Follow them! 2/x
But for those of us that work or volunteer on campaigns, taking care of our own votes is nowhere near enough. This is the president with his full resources attacking our social fabric and democracy. We can’t meet it with personal, we have to meet it with collective 3/x
If you’re a part of a campaign or IE effort, you need to rewrite your gotv and chase plan this week, not to get rid of the important work you were going to do, to add to it. We need to stop thinking this is a status quo election that needs a status quo campaign 4/x
We can’t take literally any vote for granted. Not our staff, not our aunt who always votes, not our volunteers. They could all come late. They could all be impacted by the attacks on USPS, the CV or both. We need to ensure their votes are all counted 5/x
We need to be responsible for each other. To do that we need to make lists. Who are the voters you personally and your org/campaign are responsible for? Not the target or modeled universe, but on top of that, the family, friends, neighbors and coworkers 6/x
We need to make our lists and take responsibility for them. Yes even here in MN, yes even with postmark date expanding when votes will be counted. We have no clue what Trump will do, we have to control what we can and be responsible for each other 7/x
We need to bend this curve too. Take the burden off USPS and elections officials. We need to take control. That means taking responsibility and ensuring everyone we know follows what SA and EM are saying and votes as early as possible 8/x
Meet with your team today, figure out how to expand your work, raise more money, put a key volunteer in charge of this effort, and message around it. I wrote a memo with a number of other suggestions, if you want it, DM me 9/x
More importantly, stop thinking this is a quirky but normal campaign. Start thinking about literally every vote and trust that Trump is trying to steal each one of them. We have to meet this collectively, aggressively, and outside the status quo most of us were trained in. 10/10.
