Saw 3 “progressives” say this on TV last week and I don’t get it. Abrams IS progressive … for Georgia. But she’s to the right of Kamala. Abrams didn’t campaign on M4A, a GND, or a $15 min wage. She didn’t endorse anyone in the primary but she did defend Bloomberg’s spending.
I mean, come on. She compared the Stop & Frisk billionaire using his wealth to Warren campaigning with her dog FFS. Look, I like Abrams. Donated to her campaign. Made calls for her. But by no objective measure is she more progressive than Harris. I just don’t get these people.
As for Warren, Harris and Warren are practically joined at the hip when it comes to votes, legislation, and policy. Warren does talk more about class inequality while Harris talks more about racial/gender inequality but they’re at the same point on the progressive spectrum.
Then saw one bash Harris bc she ran vs a “progressive DA.” It’s true Hallinan was called progressive BUT
He supported the death penalty. She opposes it.
He prosecuted people arrested for possession. She did not.
He prosecuted young girls arrested for prostitution. She did not.
It’s just plain wrong (if not malicious) to say Harris isn’t progressive. Esp when you’re calling people to her right progressive. And when you're OK w decades of progressive heroes EW ignoring civil rights & BS being right of center on guns, immigration, and hiring women & POC.
All I’m saying is, if you’re appointing yourself chief judge on who is or isn’t progressive, you have to come up with a standard definition and apply it equally and fairly. Otherwise, you’re just full of sh*t and your opinion should be treated accordingly.
The primary is over.
The VP selection process is over.
Harris is our nominee for VP.
Picking her apart from the left and lying about her doesn’t help a single person you *claim* you want to help. It DOES help the racist criminal currently in the WH though. 🤬
