Use cliches rarely. If ever.
You know the ones;
- at the end of the day
- open-door policy
- all things being equal
When they were first used they were new ways of understanding the world.
So maybe okay for the olden days.
Now? Just a little boooooring!

Keep things brief and clear
Less is often more, especially on Twitter. 280 characters and all.
Instead of;
The majority of —> Most
Continues to be —> Remains
In spite of —> Despite
Less words, more punch.
Make things EASY for your readers.

And a few things I learnt at school that aren’t actually right.
1. Never start a sentence with and, but or because.
Phew. Because I do that all the time.
2. Avoid sentence fragments
That means it’s okay to not use whole sentences. Like this!

2. Avoid sentence fragments

3. Never write a paragraph that’s only one sentence long.
Anyone who is on Twitter already knows this. Don’t we?
We love a one sentence paragraph.

Thanks for making it this far, hopefully you enjoyed it. Please
if you did.
Hit the follow if you’d like to learn how to write better.
Not from me obviously. From the book.
Or you could just use Grammarly I suppose.
But where’s the fun in that?
