Want to get better at writing?

Then stop scrolling, I have something for you...

If this tweet gets to 200 likes, I'll turn it into an educational mini-thread.

I also guarantee it *won't* be what you expect.

Hit that little heart right now 👇❤️
Alright, there it is

Thank you

What will make this thread a bit different is that it isn't a general list of writing tips

Instead, I'll break down the tweet above and explain how you can use the elements of it for yourself
Line #1

That's called a "hook"

In this situation, I used a question that I knew many people would say yes to

Whatever tactic you use, the first line always has to create legitimate interest

If it doesn't, you lose your reader before the dance even begins
Line #2

Here, I grabbed your hand and took you to the next step

The hook made you stop scrolling, but when you see the words "stop scrolling", you're likely to listen

"I have something for you..." leads you to the next line
Line #3

This line explains the offer

It tells you what you get

It also tells you what you need to give
Line #4

This creates more intrigue by making the offer seem unique

A standard "get better at writing" thread might not totally interest you

But one that you "won't expect" naturally creates more interest
Line #5

This is the final call to action

Rather than expecting you to hit the like button after asking in the third line

I realize that another CTA will help get my desired outcome
Conclusion

This thread is not about writing tweets like this

Instead, it's a miniature sales pitch that has a surprising amount of "offer elements" in it

I hope you learned something

Thanks for reading
