He made his LFC debut vs MK Dons (September 2019). He moved to Swansea on loan for the second half of the 19/20 season, scored 11 goals, and helped them reach the Play Off semi finals. He is training with the LFC first team.
Position: Striker, he cites Suarez, Firmino, Drogba and Henry as inspirations for his game.
Strengths: Brewster has great intelligence, movement and finishing, he is a complete striker. He can find space in the box through smart positioning and makes good runs, finding himself in the right place at the right time, with excellent choices of finish.
He is composed and places his shots, he has a natural awareness of where the target is. He is quick so can beat defenders with pace, making him unpredictable. He can score all types of goals within the penalty area and from range, using both feet.
His volleys especially are strong and he can generates lots of power behind them. Several of his goals have come about by him shooting early, giving goalkeepers less chance of making a save. He has an excellent direct free kick.
He is seemingly not disheartened by missing chances and keeps himself involved in case another presents itself. He combines brilliantly with teammates and can turn provider. He is energetic off the ball and presses instinctively, sometimes winning the ball high up the field.
He has shown himself to be strong with his back to goal and displays good hold up play, he uses his body well against physically stronger opponents.
Having played for different teams throughout his career he has shown he us able to adjust to new environments and put in strong performances. He has shown a certain mental toughness having recovered so well from injury setback early in his career.
Klopp has praised his attitude and tipped him for a ‘bright’ future.
Development: Having returned from a long term injury, he has seemilngly regained confidence and back scoring goals. He has transitioned brilliantly into senior football whilst on loan at Swansea, and showed great consistency whilst he adjusted to a new team.
Having now returned from loan and training with the LFC first team at their Austria pre-season training camp, this will give him chance to stake a claim in Klopp’s plans for next season. He will likely be given an opportunity to impress in the upcoming pre season friendlies.
Further good displays next season could see him in contention for a selection in England’s Euro 2021 squad.
