No doubt: Netanyahu and Trump would love to see Moroccan-Israeli ties formally normalized. And getting US and other recognition of Western Sahara as Moroccan certainly desirable for the monarchy. 1) Would imply having to silence many and important political actors (including PJD), and large parts of civil society, and presumably of the population. Would imply need for (much) stronger authoritarian grip and more repression.
2) Would also mean gambling on the Sahara being more important to Moroccans than solidarity with the Palestinians.
3) Time until November may not suffice for such a Moroccan-US-Israeli deal (which the French and others would certainly not oppose). Imagine monarchy first wants to see others (Bahrain etc.) follow, and how UAE deal plays out in the mid-run in the region.
