You love sex alot but how often do you take care of your vagina let alone your reproductive organs?
Most times it's not only the exterior that matter, the interior too because whatever happens on the inside end up showing on the outside.
Hence the reason I created this thread.
Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the cells of the cervix which is the lower part of the uterus (Womb) that connects to the vagina.Various strains of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) which is a sexually transmitted infection, play a role in causing most cerivcal cancer
When exposed to HPV, the body's immune system prevents the virus from doing harm. For most women it goes away, but if it doesn't, there is chance it may cause cervical cancer. Girls who start having sex in their teens years are at a higher risk of contracting HPV.
The early stage of cervical cancer produces no signs or symptoms but the advanced cervical cancer may cause vagina bleeding after intercourse, between periods or after menopause. Also watery, bloody vagina discharge and pelvic pain during intercourse.
Almost all cervical cancers are caused by HPV but there are risk factors like: Having several sexual partners, Early sexual activity, Smoking, Using birth control pills for a long time and Having STIs like HIV can increase your risk of HPV.
To reduce your risk to cervical cancer, Ask your doctor about the HPV vaccine that protects against HPV infection, Have routine screening or pap tests, Practice safe sex(using condoms) and don't smoke.
