Sr. Campbell calls for evaluating Harris' record "faithfully." This is an excellent goal. https://www.ncronline.org/news/opinion/evaluate-sen-kamala-harris-record-faithfully
But Sr. Campbell doesn't mention abortion even once in her piece. That all by itself gives one pause about what kind of faithful examination is going on here. 1/

If Sr. Campbell were faithful in discussing Harris' record on abortion, she would be forced to admit how wildly extreme it is. Prenatal children, which Pope Francis reminds us bear the face of Christ as the least among us, is totally erased from consideration by Sen. Harris. 2/
Her description of Harris' grilling a District Court nominee for having joined the Knights of Columbus as "having a political disagreement" is...well...malarkey. Her questions implied that merely joining the Knights made him questionable as a judge: https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/01/kamala-harris-knights-of-columbus-religious-test/ 3/
Once again, her questions reflected that Harris has a deep problem with the Catholic view of abortion...and Sr. Campbell failed to engage this very large elephant in the room.
Finally, its not a little ironic that Sr. Campbell claims in this piece that Harris "seeks out..." 4/

"..opportunities for collaboration where she can learn and move solutions forward" when last week it was reported that Harris was the most partisan liberal in the 2019 Senate measured precisely on the basis of her lack of collaboration with Republicans. 5/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/08/13/is-kamala-harris-really-most-liberal-senator-trump-claims/
I agree with Harris about much (especially on several social justice issues Sr. Campbell rightly champions) and her historic candidacy is obviously important for our racial justice moment.
But a faithful evaluation would be far more complex than what Sr. Campbell has offered.
