No fixtures? No problem.

Here are 7 tips from @roneildinho that you can apply to your thinking immediately when picking your #FPL team, to help get your season off to a flying start. 🚀
1) Ahead of GW1 it's less important to find the players that are going to bang & more important to be able to easily get the players that do bang. đź’Ł

The right set-up allows flexibility, optionality & = less FTs and is more important than identifying which players will explode.
2) To take this point further, an important consideration for a GW1 pick is the number of potential exit points you have.

Be careful picking too many players at awkward price points.

For example:

The nearest price point to Bruno Fernandes (10.5M) is either 11.5M or 9.5M.
3) Don’t only look for bargains in those who’ve fallen in price this season, look for opportunity in those who’ve risen.

Price rises create a mental trap for some people & they might be unwilling to buy a player who increased in $ even if they're still good value. Ings anyone?
4) Don’t just assess a new signing’s FPL price in isolation, also consider whether they could affect their teammates’ returns & therefore making them under/over priced:

Example:

Does the signing of Werner mean Mount at 7M becomes an absolute bargain if he nails down a place?
5) If you've decided on a budget 4.5M goalkeeper this season, when choosing & while waiting on fixtures, don't forget to consider:

- Does their team have any attacking DEF's you'd prefer instead?

- Does their team concede enough shots to get saves/bonus as well as clean sheets?
6) Avoid decision fatigue.

Focus on the decisions that matter: captaincy & transfers.

This means avoid rotating GK's or an expensive 8th attacker which will give you benching headaches.

Set your team up so you can maximise focus on the decisions that will make/break your GW.
7) Finally, when GW1 does KO, panic is going to set in.

Write a list of a couple of rules your rational self wants to stick to NOW, _no matter_ what happens in GW1.

Example:

- Save a FT ahead of GW2 if possible.
