Value Players {Thread}
Value = (Points / Price)
We're all Fantasising & Drafting teams blindly without fixtures. But what I'm doing is eliminating players from my scope based on Their Value
The TLDR - To get to 2,500 points - Players needs to have a minimum Value of 25.

A Value of 25 is very high. 18 players last season (Based on their current Price) had that value
8 of them were GK & the other *10 were all DEFs.
*Lundstram had a position change.
No MID or FWD, from last season's points & this season's price, has a value of 25

KDB best value MIDs with 21.8 - which is over 100 points less per mil over 38 games
Ings best value FWDs with 23.3 - which is still over 50 points less per mil over 38 games
Have any MIDs or FWDs had a season that they've reached a Value of 25? Based of last 5 years, Very few:

Mo Salah - £12.0
Required points: 300
In 17/18 Mo Salah got 303 points which makes him the most expensive premium to ever reach value based off of this season's price.

Riyad Mahrez: £8.5
Required Points: 213
In Leicester's title winning season he got 240 points. Which would be incredible value. However since he has never broken the 200 point mark - Pep Rotation limiting minutes. Will he reach that this season now that David Silva has left?

Dele: £8.0
Required Points: 200
In his 2nd year at Spurs he got 29 G+A. Totalling 225 points. This would be incredible value. But in his last 2 seasons, with injury trouble & being played out of position, his combined points is less than that of 16/17. Can he rekindle the spark?

Mesut Özil: £7.0
Required Points: 175
In 15/16 he got 200 points. If he plays then I think he could easily represent & hit his value. It however doesn't look like that's happening as Arsenal anymore - with manager after manager choosing to leave him out in recent years.

Gylfi Siggurdson: £7.0
Required Points: 175
He's one that has hit Value twice. Once in 16/17 with 181 & more recently in 18/19 with 182 points. Although he got a fair bit of game time under Ancelotti at the end - he was playing CM in a 442 which saw his xG drop by nearly half.

Ross Barkley: £6.0
Required Points: 150
Another were it's been a while. In 15/16 he got 158 points in his best season. But his combined points from the last 3 seasons falls short of that. With Chelsea already adding to their attacking line - I don't think he'll get close.

Luka Milivojevic: £6.0
Required Points: 150
In 18/19 he got 14 attacking returns - many of which penalties - he got 166 points. Last season however he got less than half of that total with a poor Palace side that weren't in enough attacking positions to get penalties.

Felipe Anderson: £6.5
Required Points: 162
This is an honourable mention, as he didn't quite make it in 18/19, but was very close with 155 points. Last season he had injury troubles that limited his game time but should he get that right & play - he could make Value this season

Not FWD has had a season where they've made a value of 25. Olivier Giroud & Odion Ighalo did - but that was more than 5 seasons ago and they're not going to get the playing time for their clubs.
Based on this - Should we be going Big at the back - again? Here are some picks:

Trent Alexander-Arnold: £7.5
Required Points: 188
Unsurprisingly with his total points of 210 last season he makes the value grade. His 18/19 score of 185 was also close enough to call value. If you don't have TAA - you're doing something wrong.

Andrew Robertson: £7.0
Required Points: 175
Like TAA, he's made value twice in the last 2 seasons (181 & 213 points). Despite Liverpool signing another LB - you would think Roberston will get enough game time to hit 175 points.

Virgil van Dijk: £6.5m
Required Points: 163
Van Dijk to makeup the Liverpool trio has hit value 2 seasons running. Like the other two - it would be surprising if this doesn't become 3.

César Azpilicueta: £6.0

Azpi has made value in 3 of the last 4 seasons. Chelsea's terrible CS record last season saw him fall short. Should they become defensively solid again...

Marcos Alonso: £6.0
Required Points: 150
Like Azpilicueta; Alonso has made value in 3 of the last 4 seasons but last season he fell short. With LB being pinpointed as one of the weak links in the Chelsea team - you'd think should they improve defensively that that's without him

Lucas Digne: £6.0
Required Points: 150
In his first season he got 158 points - which represents the Value target. Last season he fell short. But with Ancelotti as manager, despite their poor end to the season, a more stable structure could see him break 150 points again.

Kyle Walker: £6.0
Required points: 150
Despite Pep rotation & that he's not really an attacking FB - Walker has been a decent FPL asset. Although his last season's point total doesn't represent value he has 18/19 season was bang on 150 points. Maybe the first DEF to Skipp tho.

Aymeric Laporte: £6.0
Required Points: 150
Perhaps the reason Man City struggled for a period last season was coping with his injury. Laporte managed 177 points in his first season.

Matt Doherty: £6.0
Required Points: 150
Matt Doherty is an FPL prince. Insanely cheap in his first season getting 144 points; backed up by a really impressive second season of 167 points despite playing less minutes with EL rotation. But none of that to worry about this season.

David Luiz: £5.5
Required Points: 138
Surprisingly he makes the value based off of his 18/19 season score of 164. Although I would not put him anywhere near my team after the season he had last year.

Patrick Van Aanholt: £5.5m
Required Points: 138
Another that just scraps the value mark. Injured at the moment. But as we all know - he can get you some attacking returns. Another that I would say is 0.5m too expensive.

Enda Stevens: £5.5
George Baldock: £5.5
Required Points: 138
I'm combining these two as one as they both got 142 points and both play for SHU. I think I'm worried about them with Henderson returning to Utd. If they sign Ramsdale maybe they could be solid?

There are a couple other £5 DEF's that have represented value:
Josh Egan 19/20
Lewis Dunk 19/20
Eric Dier 15/16 (when he was last listed as a DEF)

My taking from this; Is that the Only MID/FWD likely capable of reaching value is Mo Salah.
*Felipe Anderson may be a shout.
** Dele may be less of a shout.
BUT - Almost every one of the premium DEFs & some budget represent the best value.
I'm going with 5 Defenders.
