In the UK, if Winner's Chapel (as a result of an inquiry), is found to have acted improperly in the administration of the charity, the UK Charity Commission in exercise of its powers under the Charities Act 2011 can remove trustees and replace them with interim managers. https://twitter.com/thecableng/status/1295145006404116480
This was exactly the case when Christ Embassy was sanctioned in 2014. Two trustees were removed (even though one resigned before the removal) while an Interim Manager was appointed to run the organisation. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/charity-inquiry-christ-embassy/charity-inquiry-christ-embassy
The primarily responsibility of the CAC is to ensure that trustees meet their legal obligations. Where the trustees are meeting these obligations which are clearly stated in the law, they've nothing to be worried about. But if they fail, then they must face the consequences.
The church MUST be seen to be leading from the front when it comes to accountability & transparency. That was the principal message in Matthew 25 (Parable of the Talents) and a basic principle of Christianity. If you've nothing to hide, then you shdn't be afraid of accountability
If Winner's Chapel and all other Nigerian based Charity organisations in the UK are willing to abide by the laws of the UK which (BTW) requires them to prepare and submit financial reports which are available to the public 👇, why can't they do same here?
