Re my tweet that’s upset teachers:
If you don’t say that shit to kids, the tweet isn’t about you.
If your team don’t say that shit to kids, the tweet isn’t about your team.
BUT
Your experience doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen, hundreds of people in that thread have exp it.

Second, comments NOT ALL TEACHERS DO THIS is not helpful and completely ignores the fact that I’m ONLY addressing the ones who do tell kids they’ll never amount to anything.
Those are the ones we are talking about, not you. Unless you do it, too. Then it’s about you

Third, completely denying that it happens to kids and teachers say this stuff whilst you’re in a thread surrounded by hundreds of parents and adults who have had this exact experience is really tone deaf and just goes to show how little you actually listen to students.
For reference, these are the tweets that teachers are offended by and are now messaging me telling me that I’m ‘attacking’ them.
It’s only aimed at the teachers who say this to kids.

It’s so disappointing to be honest - all professions seem to have this issue with criticism.
Police do the BUT NOT ALL POLICE ARE BAD too
Social workers do it. Therapists do it. Psychologists do it.
Use your brains FFS, no one is saying ‘ALL X ARE BAD’ by being critical

I don’t get it because I’ve never felt like this about psychology and social work which I spend most of my time in. We get criticised A LOT and I just sorta go ‘oh fuck, what has someone done now?’ And then ‘shit that’s bad practice, what do we do to stop it?’
The only reason I can think of, that would lead to me being so personally offended about criticism of psychologists would be if it was aimed at me directly or if I knew I had done something wrong and I was too arrogant to accept it
