Nuggets Jazz series prediction: a thread 😼
As much as I want to say Denver in 4, I feel like the Jazz aren’t just a pushover lol, so I’m going Denver in 5, but it could probably go 6. Here’s how I think it’ll go:
Game 1: Denver
Game 2: Denver
Game 3: Utah
Game 4: Denver
Game 5: Denver
I just don’t see Utah being too competitive without Conley and Bojan, and then also Ed Davis, who’s not as important, but some more depth gone. Maybe I’m too confident, I guess we’ll see
Also some stat predictions, starting with Jokic:
26 PPG
10 RPG
9 APG
The assists could easily be much higher tbh. Last year he averaged 8.4 APG, and now you give him MPJ and Jerami? Oh boy, wouldn’t be too surprised if he hits 10+, also considering Utah will likely try to
Double him quite frequently. Rebounds may also be lower tho, as we’ve seen his rebounds dip the more MPJ plays, but I think Jokic plays enough minutes to grab 10, and he’ll be much more active and invested considering it’s the playoffs.
Also I think Jokic could average 30 points, however I don’t think he’ll average 30 points and 10 assists, it’ll be one or the other, but also could be neither, but he’ll be close to both marks in my opinion
Jamal stats:
23 PPG
5 APG
5 RPG
Might seem a bit ambitious most, but this isn’t actual much of a difference from his numbers last year where he put up 21.3/4.4/4.7. Rebounds could probably be lower than 5, as I mentioned MPJ’s tenacity on the boards, but Jamal has...
Improved his frame and is so much bigger, I find it hard to not see him get at least 4. As for points and assists I’m pretty much just guessing he marginally improves from last year. If you asked me a month ago I would’ve prolly guessed more points, but MPJ’s emergence...
Changes a lot, and speaking of MPJ...
MPJ stats:
22 PPG
8 RPG
1 APG
Don’t be surprised at all if he averages quite more than 22 points, because Utah really doesn’t have an answer for him. Rebounds could also be up or down, but I feel 8 is a solid middle ground. I know 1 assist seems low but MPJ really only...
Touches the ball if he is trying to score. They do not get him the ball as a facilitator even though I believe given his size and understanding of the game he’d actually be somewhat capable.
That’s about all I’m gonna predict cause those are the main guys, but yeah. This series should belong to Denver. We’re 3-0 against them this year, and they are undermanned. I suppose we kind of are undermanned as well with Gary and Barton out but we are so much deeper...
Than them that we have quite the advantage in my opinion. Also just looking at Mitchell’s subpar playoff performance last year on top of the fact that we’ve held him to inefficient numbers in every matchup bares well for us. Gobert is also not going to be too effective...
In my opinion. On offense he only really scores in the pick and roll, and I’m sure Jokic has been working on that, and Gobert is literally no problem for Jokic on the defensive end either. Utah’s two main players simply do not excel against us. Denver in 5, maybe 6
