That's no compliment to Rahm btw. He's a trash human being and I wish him nothing but the worst in life. He was a nightmare for people doing justice work in this city. But protesters are getting an even rawer deal under Lightfoot and that's just the truth.

I also say this as someone who was present for the bloodiest repression that went down under Rahm. I was there, I remember and I know how bad it was. They kicked my ass too. And what's happening under Lightfoot in Chicago is infinitely worse.

She also stalled local efforts to fight the pandemic. Ppl get confused about that bc *the governor* of IL took action, which ultimately made Lightfoot look more competent than she was. She'd been resistant to that action. If she hadn't been overruled, things would be much worse.

In fact, the only thing that saved Lightfoot from the story of how badly she screwed up in the early days of COVID-19 in Chicago was those damn memes.
