I just had a mini breakdown trying to get online school set up.
I have a tech job. I couldn't get it to work. I was sobbing bc I know other parents must be MORE exasperated.
I wound up on the phone with the teacher.
We went through everything and found what was going wrong.
Teacher and I ran some tests and figured out the issues. She was able to send out a new email with clarified instructions.

I'm not some IT whiz. I just had a good attitude and willingness to do trial and error.

The whole grade had the thing wrong and was able to fix it.
Because we chatted, we probably saved a lot of tears tomorrow.

She knows a few more bumps in the road to expect.
Moral of the story - there are times when we have to hold it together for everyone else.

Please be patient with teachers and school staff as we get going on this online learning journey.
I cannot think of a more stressful time to do this shit, or a more important time to practice loving kindness.

We need to show our kids and our teachers A LOT of love and patience. AND OURSELVES.
A friend who teaches kindergarten was yelled at by 2/3 of the parents she reached out to.

My heart breaks for her and those families.
If you are able to be home with your kiddos and start this online learning journey, please approach it with a sense of adventure and a grateful heart.

We are making history.
We are going to get through this, but we have to do it together.

Now is the time to leave it all on the court. Can you help another parent? Do it!

Do you see your child's friend isn't getting hooked up to online school? CALL THEM AND SEE WHAT THEY NEED.
It is going to take every single one of us to make this work. I challenge you to check with everyone you know from your kid's school in the next month to see how it's going.
Good luck tomorrow. Our kids are never going to forget this. How will they remember you acting?

Let's make some history.
