Was in Brooklyn yesterday doing some work on our studio, which is coming along well, but I have to say that New York City just isn't the same. Met up with Dave and had some donuts in front of his apt. He's got a big black eye where some thug smashed him with a rock.
That dirtbag is still at large and probably attacking other people on the subway. Couldn't drink my ice coffee through a NYC mandated paper straw that keeps folding over on itself. Went out for a drink later with a friend who works in real estate. Suffice to say he is changing
careers because there is no such thing as real estate in NYC at this point. We got into the bar and they have to sell us a bagel with our drinks because of some bizarre NY state mandate not allowing you to just have drinks?!
It was nice to get out and have a beer at one of these rooftop scenes, but everything is just super weird now. I told my friend that all the advantages of living in NYC are basically gone now and it is just disadvantages. Really sucks.
Good news though is that the bars and restaurants are filled to capacity at night, even if people have to eat outdoors on the street. Happy for the small business owners.
