the way some of y’all non natives attack certain shippers is so ugly?? i’ve been in the atla fandom for years.. these conversations have been out there for years. I made many native & indigenous friends in the zutara & zukka fandom who never agreed when it comes to this subject
it has gotten to the point where i’ve seen a bunch of non natives bully native ppl that ship these ships or other bipoc shippers that live in countries still affacted by colonization..or send artist who make fanart hate and for what? a fucking nickelodeon cartoon non canon ship??
i would never go against or pick fights w natives that do feel uncomfortable but i will also never go against zutaras zukkas zukkis etc that ship these ships respectfully
at the end of the day there seem to be native ppl that do feel uncomfortable and native ppl that don’t. So non native ppl have no right to either 1. Go against ppl that feel uncomfortable or 2. Bully ppl that do enjoy these ships
bc surprise if you’re not native and you tell ppl that they should stop shipping certain ships bc they’re speaking over natives, you are also speaking over natives that do like these ships and don’t agree that it is a colonizer x colonized ship
