2. Another reason why people who are incarcerated are resisting COVID testing.
A pos test will cancel your next court date. Especially an issue in jails with tons of pre-trial detainees now stranded inside cuz the right to a speedy trial has been thrown out the window.

The normally interminable series of pretrial hearings that happen are now stretched out to the horizon, months and months apart.
So rather than make an accomodation for video appearances (which are legal & technologically fully possible) dates just get killed and postponed

So NO - incarcerated people resisting testing aren't superstitious peasants or whatever
They just got a whole different set of disasters to navigate that you can't imagine
