Only by transcending race do we actually defeat racism. To argue otherwise is like saying you defeat classism by retaining poverty or casteism by continuing to define people by caste https://areomagazine.com/2020/08/05/we-cant-just-oppose-racism-we-must-transcend-race/
Notice that nobody defines Kamala Harris by her caste, I doubt 99.9% of Americans even know what it is. That's a *good thing*!
Harris's mother was a believer in casteism. A quote from her: "We are Brahmins, that is the top caste. Please do not confuse this with class, which is only about money. For Brahmins, the bloodline is the most important. My family, named Gopalan, goes back more than 1,000 years."
This took about one generation in America to wipe out. Once everyone stopped caring about caste and assigning traits to it, now nobody thinks about Kamala Harris via caste.
Because my family goes back through India for hundreds of years if not longer I too had all these assigned labels that people fought and died over, insisted you could never escape, but because society in America just doesn't recognize them, they disappeared.
