Thread: One of Josh Allen's greatest strengths as a passer is his ability to throw on the run. His athleticism combined with accuracy on the run make him difficult to defend if he breaks contain. In '19 we saw Allen start to transition from running to run to running to throw
Let's kick it off with a throw that made all the Allen haters go radio silent (even just for a second) on Thanksgiving day. In his own end zone, down 7, on 3rd & 10 - absolute laser in stride to Beasley off of one foot
Little flick of the wrist. Love the precision of this throw, just out of the defenders reach & hits Foster in stride to pick up more YAC
Eagles played the bootleg fairly well, Allen is just too quick and is able to make the throw off an awkward platform
3rd & 14 finds Brown along the sideline for 19 yds and a 1st down. This throw looks insanely routine
Example A of running to throw in the red zone. Allen loved using his legs to draw defenders out of the throwing lanes in the red zone. You either let him run free or he hits the open man downfield. Pick your poison
If your defense doesn't stay disciplined on these bootlegs it's likely gonna mean easy yds one way or another
Ridiculous throw to convert 3rd & 17. On the run, over the second layer defender
Off balance dime to convert another 3rd down. Allen was among the best in the league on 3rd & long and his ability to extend the play and make throws on the run is one of the primary reasons why
Danny Jones would never
He gets a little more under this and it's a ridiculous touchdown
Lol listen to the noises Tirico is making watching the replay
Exhibit B in the red zone
I love the way he's able to improvise and buy more time from pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. Another accurate throw on the run, Brown just misjudges the sidelines so it goes to waste
Fading away over multiple levels of defenders
Exhibit C in the red zone: Watch #47 once he decides to play the QB Allen pulls the trigger to Beasley
Reverse pivot, fading away. One of Allen's better throws of the season
His arm talent is so obvious on some of these throws. The power he's able to generate from a seemingly casual wind up is ridiculous
Look at the zip he's able to get on this ball despite not having his feet set under him
I don't know how Allen is able to keep his eyes downfield while playing with free rushers, multitasking at it's best
Toys with Jamal Adams and finds Singletary open downfield
Regardless of what you think of Josh Allen as a football player I think we can all agree it's never boring to watch him play ball
So many of these plays came on 3rd down
Very close to being a ridiculous throw, 30+ yds while fading away to a spot
Posted this play before, but there are probably 4-5 QBs in the NFL that can make this throw. Jump step across his body / the field
