Dad passed away a little over 24 hours after i tweeted the tweet below back in March. He died in @marymountcork 8 days after being admitted there not from covid but from cancer.
Them 8 days were extremely tough on us as a family. https://twitter.com/Reilly2O/status/1242617552695672832

Mum only git to see him a few hours before he passed, I was only allowed in after he passed & my brother was not allowed to see Dad in Mary Mount at all because he just come back from NZ a few days earlier. Now imagine knowing your about to die & not allowed to see your family.
Dad was a real hard ass wouldn't shy away from anything but this most have been absolute torture for him, you could hear it in his voice on the phone but never said anything about other than it's for benefit of everyone. Now i completely agreed with @marymountcork decision
Regarding restricting visitors but it was extremely gut wrenching on families up & down the country who lost loved during the lock down.
Seeing the video in Dublin in the pub, I'm asking anyone who wants to go on the piss, & we all down at the minute, to please rethink.

Enough families are grieving & hurting due unfinished farewells so please respect others & their families. This lock down won't last forever but the grief & pain & "I wish i could have said this" will. Respect others its as simple as that. Thank you!!
