Why Larry (MIGHT) be coming out soon : a thread
(Keep in mind, I have a BA in PR so I know what I’m talking about) Okay so! From what I have seen! Louis left Syco and has not signed with another company. This would mean he is currently free from any contractual obligations as far as his management goes.
As most of you have seen, a lot of media outlets have been releasing headlines saying “fans are spazzing on twitter over Harry and Louis meeting up in Italy”, stuff to that affect. Well I did some research and found out what has suddenly made the media outlets so interested
Apparently, this girl was on twitter at work on day and was laughing at some tweets. Her coworker asked what it was about, so she told her coworker it was just a tweet about Harry Styles. Her coworkers says something like “oh! I met him once while I was in Italy!”
The girl, being a big 1D, fan was like “omg!” And asks for more details. The coworker said it was in may of 2019 and he was with another one of his band mates. The girl asked her who and the coworker said he was with Louis.
Now this is where the hang up is. Why would a media outlet write a story about that? We talk on twitter everyday about Larry? People have made up stories about seeing H and L in public and media outlets don’t use them for headlines??
Why would media outlets choose to use a story about some girl running into Harry and Louis BACK IN 2019 as a recent headline???? It’s simple really. They were paid to. (This is my educated theory I could be clowning so hard rn) but it makes sense.
Like I just said. This was a story some random girl tweeted. A story that wasn’t even recent, it happened more than a year ago, she had only just found out about it. Why on earth would someone see that and think Headlines?
Because they were paid to. Louis is no longer under his contract which means he has some freedom he probably hasnt had before.
I’m not going to pretend that I know what Harry is obligated to in his contract, but for the sake of this thread, let’s assume he could be openly gay if he wanted to, and just hasn’t chosen to do that yet.
So let’s say neither of them are under any restrictions as far as their sexuality goes. And because of that, they want to come out. In a perfect world, even one where they aren’t held by contracts, they would still need management to know before they could blurt out the news
Jeff has to know how excited Larries would be if they were to come out. He would be stupid not to know. And him, being Harry’s manager, he’s going to look at this situation from a business stand point. And that’s just hot that is.
As much as it sucks, people like Harry and Louis are business opportunities first and people second in the industry they work in. Their management wants to make money, and they do that by making their clients successful and by keeping us hooked.
So let’s assume Harry and Louis go to jeff and say they want to come out. The first thing jeff is going to think of is “how do we attract people to this and keep them interested?” Because attention is money in the music world
Blurting our the news on twitter will cause a lot of attention. But it won’t be long term. Jeff is going to want people to follow this, to keep checking for more updates and more news.
He knows how big the Larry fandom is, and he wants as many of us as possible to follow this story for as long as possible so they can get the most gain when it all finally pops off. So hoooooow do they do that?
By selling information to media outlets. This can happen anonymously or a contract can be negotiated. I would guess in this case, it would be contract based seeing as this is something that’s been going on for so many years.
Instead of just giving the media outlets the whole story to print, management companies will pay them to release little nuggets of information over time that way the audience stays hooked, waiting to see what happens next.
I personally think the tweets that girl made of her coworker meetings H and L in Italy were paid for. How else would jeff create a narrative that he could string a long for as long as possible? And why else would media outlets be talking about tweets from an old story?
I think they needed a way to get Larry back on the headlines that wasn’t super intrusive. Just a subtle little headline that they can build from as time goes on. And I think that’s exactly what they plan to do. That’s why I think Larry is coming out soon.
