There are many basketball concepts that can be taken and applied to Gaelic games. Certainly the backdoor cut is one that is becoming more popular. Great way to keep defenders honest. #GAA @starryboy14 Can we create a game to encourage players to try and develop the skill? #GAA
Here’s the game. ‘Cut Back Lanes’ Give players opportunities to try and develop the skills of the cut back & loop in the context of a smaller sided game. Change the dimensions to suit your own needs or to adapt for hurling.
Here’s the animation via @TacticalPad As an alternative to the condition in the game, a great piece of advice I was given before was to, give individuals targets before a game i.e Inside forwards to receive on a cut back. @coachsullylk @GAAmeCoaching @KillersPhair @murray2_eoin
Just another note on the conditions of the game. The reason for the condition is to overly constrain them to force a cut back. Eventually you'll develop the game to where you just play it without conditions but still keep the markings in place.
