...only to find out that even a triple-marginalized person given power in a corrupt system is apt to sacrifice their own communities for a seat at the cannibal table.

Sadly, I think even a “good person down for the cause” would eventually be: 1. Corrupted 2. Expelled or 3. Killed. Power in this system is poisonous. Any seat at this table is cannibalistic.
For me, there’s a difference between power (dominion over others) and empowerment (dominion over myself).
