What’s happening in Chicago is a clear example of how you can elect a politician who is at the intersection of three marginalized identities, thinking that “representation” and “symbolism’ might have more meaning beyond the superficialities of it all...
...only to find out that even a triple-marginalized person given power in a corrupt system is apt to sacrifice their own communities for a seat at the cannibal table.
Blood on their hands AND mouth.
Flesh stuck between their teeth.
And you can see that because they’ve been smiling the whole time.
Flesh stuck between their teeth.
And you can see that because they’ve been smiling the whole time.
Sadly, I think even a “good person down for the cause” would eventually be: 1. Corrupted 2. Expelled or 3. Killed. Power in this system is poisonous. Any seat at this table is cannibalistic.
For me, there’s a difference between power (dominion over others) and empowerment (dominion over myself).

By the way, 170,000 Americans have been sacrificed to the altar of Donald Trump. https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/16/us/coronavirus-pandemic-national-mourning/index.html
