NIGERIA MEDIA MADE MISERY
No doubt, there are very pathetic situations within our public systems - schools, hospitals, but many of the views peddled as facts are largely borrowed experiences, false narratives, and media simulation of how "bad," because they cant sell how "good."

Somebody disagreed here, arguing there's nothing good in any of our General Hospitals. I have been to six this year, including Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta, and the one in Owo. I asked him to tell me the General Hospitals he visited, which informed his views, he disappeared.
I've had to retrieve a woman in labour from a 2 bedroom flat private hospital in d vicinity of a General Hospital.
In Lagos, Ifako-Ijaiye General Hospital beats many private clinic, hands down, when it comes to maternity. No child birth deaths, Gynaes, standby Generator, name it?

In a country where self esteem is tied to iPhone, and riding in Uber is used to shame others as broke, the detest for public systems is firstly a matter of class and status, before debates about quality of services. A besetting mentality of, "if its public, its belittling."
Many of the parents who rush their kids abroad haven't entered a Nigerian university since they left in the days of Ali Must Go. The quest for private universities started from the rich seeking alternatives for their kids who can't compete for Unilag's admission through Jamb.

Sadly, ASUU aided this catalysis at making public universities become unattractive. How hard is it to computerize results that students wait till third semester to get first semester results?
How is issuing transcript a problem of government funding?
Many maniacs too became VCs

Prof. L.B Kolawole, then FUTA VC indicted by OBJ's visitation panel is currently at Redeemers University.
If universities are audited today, the entire Senate of some schools will end up in jail. I know a former NUC Chairman. He can collect money from a corpse for accreditation.

Dont be fooled, the public universities still have an equalled depth of faculty.
In Lagos, the best mathematics teachers are still in public schools. Cowbell Maths competition, WAEC, Jamb results keep showing this public potentials, but we've been so bewitched by self-obsession.

LUTH look very dilapidated, but when its 'red,' all the private hospitals know where the consultants are.
One of the ways to fix this is to take away everything about facilities management away from the jurisdiction of medical directors, out sourced by FG to private companies.

You can't put you child in a private school as a public official in the UK. One of the ways to restore the public institutions in Nigeria is by making sure there are no private alternatives. Its time also FG began to make teachers and lecturers take academic hippocratic oath.
Apart from Omi ewa & Rice journalism, its shameful when people who call themselves influencers here use their platform to manufacture misery, swaying many to a misjudgement of illegal immigration, to end up in captivity in Lebanon, Dubai & China, then start shouting @abikedabiri.
