I love how Canada Post is trending because Canadians are realizing how shit Canada Post is now that USPS is running the same as Canada Post.

Seriously, have you seen the Mail Hacking talks where people mail absolutely ridiculous shit? Have you seen USPS deliver a package with literally just a single sentence? Canada Post can't even figure out my fucking unit number if it gets left off a package.

Honestly, USPS was until recently a shining example of what you could do with a government service without privatization. It was the counter-example to single payer health care critics who say "The government can't run anything right" and now it's gone.

Shit, I used to order my stuff from China to Blaine, because I knew that it would actually arrive. If I ordered it in Canada, it would be on the slow boat and it probably would never get here. Also, since Canada Post doesn't track international incoming, who knows???!!??!

It's amazing how many people are replying defending Canada Post having not experienced another postal system that works better. The Canadian "It's okay to eat shit, because it's Canadian shit" thing is something I will never understand.

And let's be clear, it's not the fault of posties for why Canada Post has gone downhill, it's the chronic mis-management.
