If you don't practice a sport, you aren't going to be good at it. Well, if you don't practice being "tough",you won't be tough. It's a choice yes. But as a coach,you have to provide tough circumstances if you want "tough" athletes.Some people idea "performance"model gets it 👎1/3
Training stupid is stupid. But if the 1st time an athlete faces a difficult circumstance is during competition, you're rolling the dice. Toughness comes from confidence. Confidence comes from knowing you've put the work in and have overcome difficulties. So, if we want to say 2/3
"Don't let today's training ruin tomorrow" that's ok. Train smart. BUT, sometimes you have to give them tomorrow off and GET AFTER IT TODAY. You absolutely can lead someone into being "tougher"
