There has been quite a bit of recent speculation from South America regarding Leeds' interest in 22-year-old Brazilian forward Arthur Cabral. Far from me to say how much substance there is to it, but I've delved through his numbers for FC Basel this season. #LUFC
Arthur Cabral was directly involved in 24 goals (18 goals, 6 assists) across all competitions for FC Basel in 2019/20. The powerful forward recorded an impressive 0.91 goals and assists per 90 in the Swiss Super League, all of which were non-penalty goal contributions. #LUFC
Arthur Cabral was deployed as a central target forward for FB Basel and was the main outlet for Marcel Koller's side. Cabral's hold-up play is excellent, and utilises his strength and quick feet to keep possession and helps bring teammates into attacking phases. #LUFC
Cabral is 1.86m tall (6'1') and predominantly right-footed, and alongside possessing a great first touch, quick feet and a frequency of turning defenders, his finishing is a core asset. He exceeded his xG of 13.59 and scored with 14 of his 23 shots on-target. #LUFC
Cabral would offer a strong aerial presence to Leeds' forward line having scored six of his 18 goals for FB Basel from headed finishes. Cabral was also directly involved in 4 goals (2 goals, 2 assists) in 646 minutes in the Europa League this campaign. #LUFC
Wyscout have a shot map for 16 of his 18 goals recorded across all competitions for FC Basel in 2019/20, but it gives you an idea of his finish positions. Three of his goals were from outside the box and four within the six-yard box. #LUFC
Cabral is a very physical player who I believe would hold his own in the PL. Would expect his defensive numbers to rocket under Bielsa, as I don't believe he was tasked with chasing opponents in the same way Bamford does, instead being a constant available outlet in transitions.
