I’ve been playing a lot of Bios:Origins @IonGameDesign. What Origins does better than any civilization game I’ve played is to tell the long story. Cities and your Migrants are expendable, it's about cultural and technological growth through the rise of consciousness (cont.)
I'm a huge fan of the Bios series and each can certainly be played on their own. The real beauty comes from playing all 4 (I count High Frontier as part if this series). I'm not talking about directly linking each game, which is possible and incredibly fun. (cont.) #phileklund
The mechanics and narrative for each title perfectly match the story that's being told. From the chaotic dice soup of Genesis, to being evolution in Megafauna and acting as an immortal 13th Migrant in Origins that sociologically develops along with your culture. (cont.) #bios
There are simply no other games like these. Whether or not you agree with Eklund's hypotheses, these games present scientific exploration in an open space to allow you to form your own conclusions on how life and cluture might have developed differently from what we see today.
