This is my 1st thread to the community and being a United fan, its only right to start my content journey on a player which has ‘rejuvenated’ himself under OGS this season, Anthony Jordan Martial.
This thread will inform how has he fared since his start to the EPL and some points if he will continue to prosper in the 20/21 season.
Without further ado, lets dive into it.

Martial has been an option in FPL since 15/16. The table below shows a summary of this stats so far, courtesy of @OfficialFPL
Last season he had the best Total Points so far in his career. As far as comparisons go, he sits in the Top 6 in the midfielder’s category behind the likes of KBD, Mo, Mane and Stirling.
These were down to a few points as noted below :-

For the upcoming season, Martial has been classified as a Forward with a price of 9M . Forwards do not get points for CS. Let’s dissect 19/20 stats as if he was a forward player.
In 19/20 Martial obtained 17 G , 9A and 14 CS. Based on that
Goals
Forward (17x4)=68 points / Mid (17x5) = 85 points
Assists
Forward (9 x3) = 27 points / Mid (9 x3) = 27 points
Clean Sheet
Forward ( 14x0) = 0 points / ( 14x1) = 14 points
Goals

Assists

Clean Sheet

A quick calculation would give you an overall points as Forward =95 / Mid = 126. Already a reduced points just with him changing positions .Ings and Jiminez both come at 0.5mil less than Martial. A lot of managers will automatically choose these two instead.
However, there are signs showing that Martial could be better than what he was last season
He looks to have nailed down the No9 spot in the team which will make him more confident the more times he plays there

Obviously, these are based on the rate that he is going in his career at United. With the eye-test, he is also working hard off the ball which is definitely a positive difference that I can see in him. In summary, Martial at 9mil is a good punt for the season
Hope you find this thread useful and can give #FPLCommunity something to think about before the dateline.
